„Memory turn” in the humanities allows to approach old problems from a new perspective. The author argues that the sphere of complicated Russian-Polish relations should be presented as a conflict between two distinct collective memories. The author considers “memory” as strictly interconnected with so called “non-memory” (i.e. as set of facts not related to memory or superseded by it). This article focuses on the place that proper names originating from rock, or popular music in general, take or could take in dictionaries of proper names. It starts with an overview of onomástica published thus far, revealing a limited interest of Polish researchers in proper nouns related to this form of artistic activity. This discovery prompted the author to share his suggestions regarding such an onomasticon, or even onomástica, where names from popular music and specific categories would take a central place. Sodom (in Polish: Sodoma) does not exist. Although this Palestinian town has been known since prehistoric times and it is mentioned in the Bible, there is no archaeological proof which would confirm its location. In 2011, the name Sodoma was removed from the official list which includes Polish equivalents of geographical names of the world. However, the onym is still used in the Polish language. This name and its derivatives appear mainly in numerous eponyms. Daugavpils (Latvia) and Narva (Estonia) are cities in the Baltic States and signifi cant cultural and economic centres of their respective countries. Selective proper name anomia in a patient with asymmetric cortical degeneration

All cases of selective anomic deficit for proper names described until now are a consequence of focal cerebral lesions. In the present paper, we report the case of a patient, AF, with a deficient access to proper names of persons and normal access to common names probably subsumed by a degenerative process of the left cerebral hemisphere. MRI evidenced an atrophy of the left temporal lobe and SPECT highlighted hypoperfusion of the left hemisphere. Neuropsychological examination documented a deficient production of proper names belonging to famous personalities both on visual presentation and verbal definition.  Tämän proseminaarityön tarkoituksena oli tutkia minkälaisia käännösratkaisuja on hyödynnetty suomennettaessa henkilönimiä Terry Pratchettin kirjassa Lords and Ladies (suomeksi Herraskaista väkeä). Tarkoitus oli selvittää, onko käännösratkaisut valikoitu jonkin tietyn säännönmukaisuuden perusteella. Aineistona tässä tutkimuksessa oli asianomainen romaani, sekä alkuperäiskielisenä versiona että suomenkielisenä käännöksenä. Aineistosta kerättiin henkilönimet ja alkuperäisiä ja käännöksiä verrattiin keskenään. Lisäksi käännökset luokiteltiin käännösratkaisun mukaan seitsemään ryhmään.
